In the tradition
of the bible word was there almost right along. That is of course quite
out of line, but in the beginning of Collage words, besides pictures, were there
from scratch. Gutenberg separated the word from the pictures. But with the invention
of new and cheap printing technologies and the plethora of print that followed,
words, in the medium of collage, aince again got together with images.
